HSC Racing Training Group 2024

We are an active group delivering quality Race Coaching to young sailors .(RYA youth age is Under 19.) We are flexible with the upper age limit.

Our aims are to introduce young sailors to sailboat racing and to further their ability to take part in club racing & Open Meetings.

Run by experienced RYA Race Coaches in a safe & fun environment. Sailors aspiring to take their ability to 'The Next Level' can advance to Regional & National squads

Group members also learn to work within a group and gain life skills to become ambassadors for our club. Disruptive behaviour is not tolerated

Aspiring sailors to the group should have gained RYA stage 2-3 or similar ability (able to sail a triangular course in an efficient & controlled manner.) Sailors must be able to work within a group and follow instruction. Sailors should take part in HSC racing series. Parents/ Guardians are required to stay on site (unless otherwise agreed) and be willing to assist with safety/launching/recovery etc.

Whilst there are a limited number of club owned dinghies usually available, group sailors should aspire to ownership. Preferred dinghies are Topper, ILCA (Laser) & Tera

An assessment day is held annually for prospective members. Existing group members are required to revalidate their place .

2024 ASSESSMENT DAY: Saturday 20th April 1300-1600.
