About

Discover Sailing at our friendly RYA Affiliated Club and Recognised Training Centre.

This is a great way to find out if you like sailing before joining as a club member and booking on one of our RYA Level 1 and 2 courses to teach you to become a competent sailor. Our Discover Sailing Sessions provide you with the ideal opportunity to try out sailing as a relaxing hobby or to become a keen racer.

During these Sessions you will get a taste of the basics of sailing. Youll try dinghy sailing with an experienced sailor to show you the ropes. This session will give you the chance to crew and control the jib (the front sail).

Whether you are sailing for the first time, or sailing again after a break, you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome. Our Discover Sailing Session coincides with the RYA Discover Sailing Promotion and is completely free. The ideal introduction to sailing and offer an informal, yet structured opportunity to have a go at sailing and discover the joy and excitement of sailing.

We are open from midday until 4pm for refreshments and a chat. We recommend you pre-book an "on the water" slot. Sessions start at 12:00, with the first sail starting at 12.30pm and the last sail starting at 3.00pm. Please arrive promptly in time for the start of your session, for a pre sail safety briefing. You'll set sail with your experienced helm to explore the lake for approximately 20 minutes, then you will come ashore where we can give you details on membership and RYA dinghy sailing courses and answer any questions you may have.

There is no charge for this session.
