Youth Race Squad
We are an active group delivering quality Race Coaching to young sailors most Saturday afternoons throughout the sailing season. Run by experienced RYA Race Coaches in a safe & fun environment.
Not only do our squad sailors improve their racing skills they also learn to work within a group and gain life skills to become ambassadors for our club. Aspiring sailors to the squad should have gained RYA stage 2-3 or similar ability (able to sail a triangular course in an efficient & controlled manner.) Sailors must be able to work within a group and follow instruction.
Sailors can take part in HSC racing series.
Photography & video are regularly taken of the squad & used for both training & publicity purposes. It is assumed that squad members consent to public use of images unless the coaching team is advised otherwise.
Whilst there are a limited number of club owned dinghies available to new squad members, squad sailors should aspire to ownership.
ASSESSMENT DAYS for new sailors:: Saturday 22nd & Saturday 29th April 1300-1600
