Junior Sailing Sessions 

If you are looking for an outdoor activity that will teach your child valuable lessons and unlock some of their hidden talents, why not consider members only joining one of our junior sailing sessions. Not only will you be able to get them out of the house and away from their computer screens, but also help them to develop skills that will last a lifetime.

These sessions are designed for Five to Eighteen-year-olds with any level of sailing ability. These sessions are run by qualified instructors, offering a safe and fun environment for children to learn and challenge themselves. The courses provide a basic understanding of how a boat sails, with some experience of steering and handling the boat. As well as a range of sailing skills and knowledge to help in becoming a confident sailor.

Junior sailors will not only learn a range of practical sailing knowledge but for young people who are introduced to sailing at an early age, pick up many skills that transcend sport. Spending time on board a sailboat with others lends itself to a lot of laughter, easy conversation, and the building of friendships. The way in which being the captain of your own dinghy can build self-confidence can rarely be matched by any other sport.

A parent or other responsible adult is required to stay on site during the session and will be encouraged to get involved and help. Please contact us for more information regarding these courses.

Improver Sailing and Race Coaching Sessions

For Club members who have completed their RYA level 2, we offer Improver Sailing Sessions on most Saturday’s at 1.30pm. These are informal sailing sessions giving members the opportunity to practice the skills learnt on their RYA Level 2 Course, led by experienced Club sailors who volunteer their time and skills to guide and encourage the less experienced sailor. Safety boat cover is available and Club Boats may be used free of charge. These sessions are also open to any club member who wants to sail their boat knowing that safety cover is available.

Race Coaching 

If you are looking to take your sailing skills and knowledge to the next level, why not try our Race Coaching course. This course is primarily aimed at Youth Sailors (members and affiliated members) who can sail a course. Our experienced Race Coach will help you to improve your race skills.
