Cruising Section’s visit to Suffolk
On the weekend of the 9th July three of us went down to the River Orwell in Suffolk.
The first day was quite windy and we did some jobs on the boat, followed by a pleasant meal in the Clubhouse which is an old lightship. After a couple of beers we slept well on the boat and after a bowl of porridge and some toast in the morning were ready for the Orwell.
We set forth in my Hunter 23, “Rosie” It was a brisk wind and we set off from Suffolk Yacht Harbour at Levington and sailed up the river to the Orwell Bridge and then returned to Pin Mill where we anchored and had a picnic on the boat. After lunch we went back to SYH and took our gear and headed back to Lincoln. The picture shows Mike Seal and Frank Ash, two very competent sailors at the helm.
We are looking to go again on the weekend of 3rd and 4th of September. Anyone interested please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org, Tel: 01522 546572.
